Donato's Pizza in Greensboro Closes Elm Street Location

Donato's restaurant at 362 S. Elm St. in Greensboro has closed, according to the Greensboro News & Record.

The pizza franchise opened just over a year ago, the paper reported. A reason for closing was not provided.

A note on the door apologized for the inconvenience and stated that the location closed at 8 p.m. Aug. 1.

Donato's offers pizza, subs and salads. The chain continues to operate at 411-B Pisgah Church Road in Greensboro and 1183 University Drive in Burlington.

Riva’s Italian Restaurant in Greensboro to Close

Riva’s Trattoria Italian restaurant in Greensboro will close July 30, according to the Greensboro News & Record.

The restaurant had recently scaled down business to only serve dinner. Owner Tracy Lamothe said the economy is hard for small restaurants.

Riva's opened three years ago at 257 N. Greene St. in a former attorney's office near Bellemeade Street.

The restaurant was reportedly known for working with regional suppliers and farmer’s markets and being involved with area fundraisers.

Bonefish Grill Serving Soft Shell Crabs

The Bonefish Grill is offering soft shell crab for a limited time, according to the Greensboro News & Record.

The restaurant chain is featuring the Bonefish Grill’s Maryland Stuffed Soft Shell Crab.

They are sautéed crispy, stuffed with jumbo lump crab and topped with a lemon caper sauce.

Bonefish Grill is located at 2100 Koury Blvd. in Greensboro and 300 S. Stratford Road in Winston-Salem.

Casual Fine Dining Restaurant Opens in Guilford College

A new restaurant has recently opened on the campus of Guilford College, according to the Greensboro News & Record.

Mark’s is now open at 616 Dolley Madison Road in Greensboro. The restaurant offers casual fine dining and a 37-seat bar.

Menu items include Kurabuta Pork Chops, Paella with Lobster, Grilled Ostrich, Kobe Burger, Lamb Sliders, Maine Lobster/Crab Roll and Warm Spinach Salad.

Lunch prices range from $7 to $14 and include Tamari and Blue Agave Grilled Chicken Salad, Pimento-Chipotle Grilled Cheese, Cuban Sandwich and Grilled Salmon.

Business hours are 11:30 to 2 p.m. for lunch and 6 to 10 p.m. for dinner Monday through Saturday. The bar will be open later on weekends.

New Asian Restaurant Opens on Market Street

Khan Mongolian Grill and Hibachi has just opened at 4929 W. Market St., Suite 2108, according to the Greensboro News & Record.

The Asian restaurant offers Japanese specialties, Korean barbecue and a lunch buffet.

An all-you-can-eat buffet is offered including Korean dishes like spicy sweet and sour pork, rice cakes in sauce and noodles.

The dinner menu features hibachi or teriyaki meats and vegetables, marinated Korean-style barbecue and steaming clay pot vegetable and seafood dishes, the paper reported.

Home-style Restaurant Opens in Sedgefield Village

A restaurant featuring home-style food recently opened in Sedgefield Village, according to the Greensboro News & Record.

Country Kettle Restaurant is now open at 3605 Groometown Road and various foods including sandwiches and subs.

The restaurant serves a daily home-style meat and vegetable lunch like salmon cakes and pinto beans Tuesdays and chicken and dumplings and lima beans and corn on Fridays.

The restaurant offers steaks every day and prime rib for dinner on Friday and Saturday and all day Sunday. Breakfast food is also served.

Business hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Full Scoop Ice Cream Shop Opens Downtown

A new ice cream shop opened in downtown Greensboro Friday, according to the Greensboro News & Record.

The Full Scoop Ice Cream Shop opened at 121-C McGee St. across from M'Coul's Public House.

The shop offers 16 all natural, hormone-free flavors and six to eight gelato flavors, the paper reported.

Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday and 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
