Jamestown man dies after attempting to hitch boat | News
GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Jamestown man is dead after being struck by his vehicle while attempting to hitch his boat at Triad Marine on Wednesday.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., police responded to 1200 E. Lindsay Avenue in reference to a crash.
Police said, Philip Allen Berry, 81 had been struck by his 2005 Jeep Cherokee when a family member was backing up to attach a boat to the hitch.
Police reported that Berry was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other information was provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
