Greensboro pastor robbed at gunpoint

GREENSBORO, N.C.– Police are searching for two men suspected of armed robbery on Monday.

At about 4:45 p.m., police responded to The Gospel Feast Tabernacle Cathedral of Praise on High Point Road in reference to a robbery.

Pastor Brandon Thompson told police that he was checking the church’s mailbox on the side of building when he was approached by two men carrying guns.

Thompson said one of the suspects fired a gun towards the ground and demanded money. Thompson says he gave the men all of the money he had, which was $10.

Thompson says that when the men ordered him out of Chevrolet Tahoe. Thompson hopped out, and the suspects jumped in. When he turned around to see what was going on, one of the men shot at him. 

The men crashed the SUV into a nearby loading deck, before taking off.

Thompson says he was able to call 9-1-1 from the pawn shop a few feet away.

The suspects fled the scene in royal blue, older model Toyota Camry.

No injuries were reported.

Police provided an incomplete description of the suspects.

An investigation is ongoing.
